ABOUT PLAYA FLAMENCA

Playa Flamenca is a small beach resort just south of Torrevieja and Punta Prima and north of La Zenia on the southern Orihuela Costa Blanca.

From Alicante airport, take the N332 road to Cartagena. Stay on this road for approximately 44Km, or 35 minutes, driving at normal speed. By-pass Santa Pola, La Marina, Guardamar, La Mata, Torrevieja, and Punta Prima. Pass through the next small roundabout, and you will be approaching a slip road to the right which is signposted for Playa Flamenca.

This area is popular with tourists, it has a growing expat population full of different nationalities although mainly from the United Kingdom.

One of the large developments in Playa Flamenca is the La Chismosa urbanisation and Las Calas urbanisation.

The huge amount of new developments, mostly apartments,  were bought up by many people from the United Kingdom and other Northern European countries. So in the Playa Flamenca area there are now many expatriates living there who speak either no Spanish or very limited Spanish.

This is great news if you’re looking for a job in the area because these expatriates or expats as they are commonly known prefer to deal with people in their native language. So if you are an English-speaker in Playa Flamenca you will find job opportunities despite your limited Spanish.

Alicante airport is only around 40 minutes drive north and to the south you have the resorts of La Zenia, Campoamor, Pilar de la Horadada and San Pedro del Pinatar as well as San Javier Murcia airport being just 25 minutes drive away. This means there are plenty of tourist related jobs in Playa Flamenca and makes for a great place if you are looking for summer jobs in Playa Flamenca.

LIVING AND WORKING IN PLAYA FLAMENCA 2011 2012

When you are looking for jobs in Playa Flamenca you also need to consider other factors apart from things such as working conditions and rates of pay, such as:

Is Playa Flamenca one of the best areas to move to in Spain?

What is the quality-of-life like living in Playa Flamenca?

What is the cost of living like in Playa Flamenca?

Just to give you our personal opinion, we believe that there are prettier areas of Spain, for example the Northern Costa Blanca is extremely green and mountainous with some very pretty little coastal towns which used to be small fishing villages. These towns such as Altea, Calpe, Moraira, Javea and Denia also have large expat populations and there are also good opportunities to find jobs in Spain 2012.

Playa Flamenca is very built up with lots of housing developments and really very little Spanish culture, however, it is a very busy area with lots of bars, restaurants, pubs and excellent sandy beaches. It is also very close to the major airports which is very handy if you intend to fly back to the United Kingdom on a regular basis.

If you are a keen golfer then this area is for you. There are three main championship golf courses within a 20 minute drive: Golf Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor.

The best thing to do of course is to visit the area and maybe even take out a short term let to give yourself time to explore the local area and search for jobs.

Playa Flamenca is a beautiful area with clean sandy beaches and many amenities and facilities. In terms of quality of life Playa Flamenca is definitely  a great place to live and work.

There are a number of historic Spanish cities within an hour’s drive of Playa Flamenca – Murcia, Cartagena, Orihuela, Elche and Alicante. Also La Manga and the Mar Menor are well worth a visit.

For the ladies there are plenty of shopping opportunities especially at the big city of Murcia to the south where there is a huge shopping mall with IKEA, Primark and Zara.

For other nearby towns look at Cabo Roig jobs or Torrevieja jobs.
